The Wake Co EMS System Prepares For Bombing Incidents

Today personnel from the Wake County EMS System participated in a Medical Preparedness and Response for Bombing Incidents class.  This two-day course teaches participants how to prepare, respond and mitigate bombing incidents.  Topics included identification of potential terrorist threats and targets, explosives and characteristics, and resource management among others.

The class was taught by the Texas Engineering Extension Service, which is a member of the Texas A&M University System, and home to the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center.  The class is offered free of charge to public safety agencies through the Department of Homeland Security.
