New Monitor / Defib Review Underway

Today, the Wake County EMS System began a three-week process of field trials for its new monitor/defibrillator.  Units from three vendor; Philips, Zoll, and Medtronic, will be placed on ambulances throughout the System.  Field personnel will evaluate each monitor/defibrillator and provide feedback, which will be used in the overall selection process.

The field review process is just one part of the selection process.  It begain with a Request For Proposal (RFP) for 77 monitor/defibrillators and 83 AEDs.  The new monitor/defibrillators will replace the current  LIFEPAK 12 monitor/defibrillators by Medtronic.  These units have been in service for five years.
