Today at the regularly scheduled meeting of the County Commissioners, Dr. Brent Myers, Director of the Wake County EMS System, gave his annual report on the status of Wake County’s EMS System. He discussed such topics as information on innovations in emergency care, improvements in outcome measurement, resource deployment, and other continuing EMS efforts to improve EMS response in Wake County.
Following Dr. Myers’ presentation, the Board proclaimed the week of May 17-23, 2010 as “Wake County EMS Week 2010.” Each May, one week is set aside nationally for the recognition of emergency medical services systems and EMS responders.
