The Wake County EMS System has completed installation of In Motion Technologies’ onBoard Mobile Gateway, in all of its ambulances. This technology turns each ambulance into a “vehicle area network”, allowing the ambulance to always be connected to the internet. This allows us to “run” different technologies like driver safety equipment, computer aided dispatch, automatic vehicle location, and navigation equipment.
Wake County EMS is also using this technology to transmit EKGs, to local hospitals, to decrease door to ballon times. Read more about our Fast Cath For Heart Attacks program.
